What is Crossfit?

Crossfit is a strength and conditioning program popular world wide which uses a mixture of functional movements

Scalable to anyones ability, Crossfit workouts are designed to increase capacity across the following ten domains:

  • Cardiovascular endurance
  • Strength
  • Power
  • Speed
  • Stamina
  • Co-ordination
  • Agility
  • Balance
  • Flexibility
  • Accuracy

In order to achieve the above Crossfit uses a structured program which includes daily coached workouts (WODs). The daily workouts consist of daily workout sessions which are programmed to be constantly varied, using a range of functional movements such as: Running, Rowing, Gymnastics, Strength training and Olympic lifting; which are all performed at a high intensity.

People of all ages are capable of doing Crossfit. We scale the loads and intensity of the workouts but not the program, to meet the individual needs and capabilities.

Crossfit increases athletic performance of any individual whether sports person or just simply unfit.

DIET

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.

WORKOUT

Practice & train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch.

GYMNASTICS

Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics:pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds.

SPORT

Routine is the enemy:Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
